9. meet our BFFs (feat. our moms)

hi hello hey, and welcome to a super special episode!

as always, we hope you’ve gotten a chance to listen to our previous episode, “dear sighted people,” where we talk about our favorite (and some of our least favorite) things that our sighted friends do for us. This week, we invited our best friends, our moms, on the podcast! We share a lot with our moms: spending time with them, shopping, traveling (when it’s safe), and just chatting, so we’re not exaggerating when we say we’re best friends. We thought it would be fun to interview our moms so all our lovely listeners could get to know our moms and hopefully love them as much as we do.

as always, if you have any questions, comments, or cute mom-related stories, please feel free to email us at hello@rarewithflair.com or message us on our instagram!

episode summary

we start by talking about the fabulous Casey’s birthday, coming up two days after this episode goes live on November 19th! Give her a happy birthday and share our podcast as a birthday gift for her! Then, we talk about our moms and have them join us! Case’s mom Gaye and Cass’ mom Sandra introduce themselves, and then we ask them a few questions. After that, we play a This or That game with them.

show notes

  • like we mentioned, it’s Casey’s birthday on November 19th! Send her a happy happy birthday <3
  • We mention the Doc Martens Casey wants for her birthday in our fashion episode, so check it out if you haven’t!
  • Gaye mentions a few movies with blind protagonists: “Butterflies Are Free” and “Ice Castles,” and Casey mentioned “Quest for Camelot”
  • Sandra tells the story about “a bug staring at [Cassandra],” which in retrospect was either something in the distance she thought was a bug, a visual hallucination (i.e. lights in your eye, think after a camera flash), or a bug buzzing around her
